Dubai Courts joins the International Consortium for Court Excellence 2016

Dubai Courts has become a member of the International Consortium for Court Excellence, a global organization that aims at improving judicial work and achieving court excellence internationally by providing a general framework for excellence designed for judicial entities around the world.This membership makes Dubai Courts the first judicial institution in the Arab world besides the DIFC Courts, to jointhe International Consortium for Court Excellence, which currently comprises of the membership of about 36 judicial institutions.

 

The Consortium currently has four founding members, the Australasian Institute of Judicial Administration, the Federal Judicial Center, The National Center for State Courts, and the State Courts of Singapore. Dubai Courts became a member after successfullycomplying with the International Framework Standards for Court Excellence, which focuses on creating an integrated institutional framework forjudicial entities. 

 

HE Taresh Eid Al Mansoori, Director General of Dubai Courts said that Dubai Courts membership in the International Consortium for Court Excellence comes as one of the steps in Dubai Courts march towards achieving its vision "Pioneering & Internationally Distinguished Courts". We, at Dubai Courts seek to provide an exemplary model in efficient and effective court administration and litigation processes ensuring the enhancement of public confidence in the judicial system locally and globally.

 

HE also added: "In implementing the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, at Dubai Courts we follow the highest standards in court administration and judicial institutions primarily targetingthe achievement of justice in the community and promoting the concept of happiness by improving government services to the highest levels and the happiness of litigants by providing services exceeding their expectations. "

 

HE Al Mansoori said: "Dubai Courts follows clear standards in judicial work in its different forms and types, and is working to improve the services to reach global rankings and contribute effectively to the UAE's achievements and Dubai's 2021 vision and goals.

 

The International Consortium for Court Excellence designed a general framework for court excellence taking into account several key factors, which include various official judicial bodies such as courts of general or specialized jurisdiction rather than alternative dispute resolutioncenters that are supervised by a court or arbitration center.

 

HE Al Mansoori also said: "we are keen at Dubai Courts to lay the foundation for mutual cooperation with strategic partners effectively to ensure the achievement of institutional integration and the elevation of legal work.Dubai Courts membership in such international institutions contribute without a doubt in the exchange of experiences and practices, which eventually serves not only the litigants and clients but also our strategic partner".

 

It is worth mentioning that Dubai Courts' application of the Dubai Government Excellence Program model actively contributed in the swift attaining of themembership with The International Consortium for Court Excellence due to the comprehensiveness of the model, which is designed to provide a set of tools and methods developed in the field of institutional excellence.
