RAK FTZ Calls for Entries for its Second Annual Business Excellence Awards

Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) today announced the launch of its second annual Business Excellence Awards programme, continuing its initiatives of recognising and celebrating its most successful clients.

“Last year’s inaugural RAK FTZ Business Excellence Awards programme was a huge success. It remarkably attracted a big number of RAK FTZ clients from various industry sectors to participate in the event. We expect a higher level of participation to happen this year,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Bin Saqr Mohamed Al Qasimi, Chairman of RAK FTZ.  “We plan to keep the business excellence awards as a tradition to continuously celebrate and honour RAK FTZ’s successful clients, especially those who have set the standard for excellence and contributed immensely to the development of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.”

Ramy Jallad, RAK FTZ Acting CEO, said the second edition of the awards programme will continue casting a spotlight on the business-friendly investment environment that has encouraged more than 8,000 companies to join RAK FTZ.

Last year, the RAK FTZ Business Excellence Award programme recognised and honoured 10 of its outstanding companies including Burkert-Contromatic AG International Middle East, Biri Industries, Eurocap, Milly Pack, Utico, Intertrad, RamJet Aviation Support, TCA International, Zaher Kayyali Trading and J & R Business Consultancy.

RAK FTZ clients who wish to participate in the Business Excellence Awards must complete the submission form which can be found on www.rakftz.com/awards, explaining why they think they should win the category they have chosen. The deadline for all submissions is 31 October 2015.

The categories set for the awards include Best New Technology, Best Small to Medium Size Business, Fastest Growing Company, Best Contributor to Ras Al Khaimah’s Development, Best New Startup, Best Corporate Social Responsibility, and this year, we are introducing Best Corporate Website as a new category in which the judges will look at the diversity of content available on the website, focusing on the structure and navigation, prioritisation of information and the visual design aspect. 

Like last year, Judges for the awards will come from International Performance Excellence (IPE), an independent committee will select the nominees and winners following a thorough analysis of submissions from the competing organisations. The awarding ceremony for the winners will be held on 15 January 2016 which will recognise and celebrate the success and excellence of the free zone's clients.
