SLC Celebrates New School Year and Eid al-Adha with Caravan and Carnival

In conjunction with September’s Eid Al-Adha and the start of the new academic year, Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC) is organising an array of educational and entertainment activities for children. Tailored to kids over the age of five years, the programme comprises the ‘Back to School Carnival’ and the ‘Eid Caravan,’ both of which will be held at SLC.

Taking place on Thursday, September 1 at SLC’s Kunooz Ballroom, the Back to School Carnival will be open to children and their mothers every day from 5:30-7:30pm. Featuring a number of educational and entertainment activities, including “Cyber Safety for Kids” workshop organized by Child Safety Campaign. The Carnival is aimed at preparing the youngsters to start their new school year.

On September 8, SLC’s Collage Talent Center will host the Eid Caravan from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Three art workshops will take place at the venue; ‘Create your own Eid ornaments,’ ‘Craft your Little Eid Sheep’ and ‘Candle Decorating.’ There will also be face painting, nail polishing, henna, and gift and candy give-aways. The Eid Caravan is being instigated to enable children to have a final bit of fun with their friends during the closing days of the school holidays.

“Throughout the year, Sharjah Ladies Club organises numerous educational, cultural, and entertainment events for club members and visitors, all of which are designed to impart fun and learning. These activities are conducted in a relaxing and nurturing environment, enabling comfortable interaction and participation. SLC is committed to providing valuable content that enriches and develops creative tendencies, thereby realising the full potential of our young members,” said Alya Al Harmoudi, Head of Business Management at SLC.

Established in 1982, SLC - a subsidiary of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs - is dedicated to facilitating leisure and educational activities for women and children. The club provides its members with a relaxing and nurturing place where they can learn, enjoy sports and partake in favourite hobbies. SLC organises events that relate to society, art, health and charity, with its activities including bazaars, exhibitions, sporting events, seminars, workshops and forums.

Designed to be a unique leisure and learning space, SLC boasts an array of world-class amenities and offers numerous high-end services, making it one of the best-of-its-kind clubs for women in the Middle East.
