Al Qasba Bids Goodbye to Street Fiesta (QABAM)

The second edition of Al Qasba Street Fiesta (QABAM) has concluded its activities at Al Qasba, Sharjah’s premiere family and leisure destination. A set of renowned performers, free-style street artists and international musicians participated in the event, which ran from March 10-19, 2016.

The 10-day fiesta enjoyed a huge attendance from both families and individuals who participated in its array of entertainment activities, including its interactive live music shows which were performed daily during the evenings.  

The Street Fiesta held numerous workshops for children tailored to help them develop their skills in drawing, painting and craftwork. It also featured a set of creative art shows performed by a group of renowned international award-winning artists.  

Sultan Mohammed Shattaf, Al Qasba Manager pointed out that the second annual edition of QABAM was welcomed by Al Qasba’s visitors because of its numerous activities tailored to people of all ages, especially children.

“We aim to keep visitors entertained and thrilled through hosting the most recent art shows. The idea behind hosting Al Qasba Street Fiesta was to take art and music outside the hall confines and present it to the audience outdoors. That is why we organised different events and hosted musicians and international bands from all over the world to present their stunning art shows to all tourists and visitors outdoors.”, he said.

Shattaf stressed that Al Qasba will continue to host the Street Fiesta because it has become one of the most important leisure events to attract local, regional and international tourists. He stated that it has highlighted the key role of Sharjah for staging art, leisure and cultural initiatives and events to strengthen its position on the regional and international tourism map.
