Xoom Technologies, A Dubai based company and developer of a pioneering line of smartphones and tablets– hailed as a game changer in the world of mobile devices, has set up its headquarters in Dubai Internet City.
“The revolutionary built-in mobile projection technology that we are launching globally is going to redefine handheld mobility as we know it. We strongly believe that Dubai as a global commercial hub is the ideal location to establish as a Launchpad for such an enterprise,” said Samir Saade, Chief Executive Officer. “By redefining communication and gaming, we strive to enhance the way people live, work and play,” he added.
Saade said that Xoom Technologies will be developing superior technology and bringing it within everyone’s reach in terms of price and usage as far as unique applications are concerned.
The Xoom product line is the world’s first set of mobile devices with built-in projection that will allow users to utilize laser projection technology to project mobile phone screen contents externally on any surface. The products are engineered utilizing a combination of licensed and proprietary patent pending hardware, firmware and applications.
“While the designs will be branded and promoted as an innovative range of smartphones and tablets, they will not be limited to built-in projection as the only innovation,” said Mustafa Saied, the Chairman and founder of Xoom Technologies. “The initial smartphone model, for example, sports a Kevlar outer shell, Gorilla Glass 4 screen, Harman Kardon sound system, and unique technology that extends battery life. We are about innovation and cutting edge technology in all aspects of mobile devices,” Saied added.
While most of the smart device manufacturers look to the US and Europe as their primary markets of entry, Xoom Technologies has chosen Dubai because it is convinced of its effectiveness when it comes to promoting and introducing innovative technologies. This is also in line with Dubai’s initiative launched last year, to make the emirate an innovation hub for global technology businesses. “As part of this initiative, the private sector was urged to work towards making the UAE a destination and capital for innovation. We are heeding this call, and are confident that our endeavor will garner the loyalty and support of every industry associated with our business,” said Saied.
Xoom is going to be a major participant at the Gitex Exhibition this year, introducing not only their cutting edge smartphone line, but an exclusive glimpse into the future of their product line to be introduced in the coming months. Having secured large commitments from European entities already, they expect to generate a lot of interest from qualified distributors and operators in the MENA region and beyond. “We are happy to invite distributors and operators to visit us at Gitex and look forward to sharing information regarding our current and future products.” concluded Saade.
