The Victoria International School of Sharjah (VISS) held its graduation ceremony on Monday in the presence of Ajman and Umm Al-Quwain ruling families, including HH Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince and President of the Executive Board of Ajman and HH Sheikh Rashid Bin Saud Bin Rashid Al Mua’lla, Crown Prince of Umm Al-Quwain.
Attendees heard speeches from VISS Principal Mr Dean Pyrah and HH Sheikh Dr Abdul Aziz Bin Ali Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, also known as the Green Sheikh, who shared their words of wisdom with 52 graduates.
Also in attendance was Dr Amr Abdel-Hamid, Chairman of the VISS Board, who has overseen the growth and direction of the school since its foundation in 2007. The school, which now has 1,453 students and 65 nationalities, has grown significantly since its first two graduates in 2009.
“We don’t just celebrate the academic excellence of our students, but we are also very proud of our school’s mission in forming the next generation of leaders into compassionate, caring and responsible global citizens,” said Mr Pyrah. “We have been honoured and humbled to have the ruling families of Ajman and Umm Al-Quwain join us for this important milestone in our graduates’ lives.”
As a leading international school, VISS comprises a multicultural student body of 65 nationalities, which offers its students a truly international academic path. The school was established by The Ruler of Sharjah, HH Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, in conjunction with the State of Victoria, in Australia, providing students with an excellent holistic Australian curriculum and IB education. It has welcomed a number of high profile guests during the academic year who have helped to inspire students to pursue their dreams.
