- the rising Turkish Fashion House, recently took over the region at their highly anticipated launch in Dubai with their Urban Luxury Men’s 2015-2016 Fall/Winter Collection. Following their show stopping exhibition at the Milano Uomo Fashion Week as well as the Mercedes-Benz Istanbul Fashion Week, Afffair entered the UAE market with a star studded fashion show. Many royalties from the region and over 300 VIP guests from all around the world attended the much anticipated catwalk show, along with fashion aficionados of Dubai society at Four Seasons Jumeirah hotel on 31st of March 2015.

Established in 2014, Afffair is a brand with a global vision and touch, born from the “Contemporary Classic” inspiration of two talented designers; Azerbaijani Rufat Ismayil - former top model and garment producer, and Ali Behnam Bakthiar – a UAE resident, who started his career in Paris by developing creative projects for top Couture Houses.

Afffair’s three month whirlwind launch kicked off its contribution to the fashion industry with Milano Uomo Fashion Week in January 2015. Honoured to be invited as the first Turkish Fashion House to ever participate, Afffair made headlines with its edgy, artistic yet elegant menswear line in the international media. The impactful success of Afffair at the Milano exhibition was followed by their opening of Mercedes Benz Istanbul Fashion Week in March 2015. After gaining acceptance from some of the most influential fashion events in the world, Afffair has made a tremendous impact in the region.

During the highly successful show and the exquisite after-party in Dubai, Ali Bakhtiar stated: “Our inaugural men’s collection has been a privilege to design and create. Calling the UAE home, this event was particularly important to me, to showcase my creative ability in the fashion world. Our vision of inspiring a sense of power, elegance and masculinity is very suitable for the regions fashionable gentlemen. Rufat and I are extremely proud and excited to present our menswear line to such a respected and tasteful crowd.”

Afffair is based in Istanbul, a cosmopolitan city that embraces a melting pot of diversity, on the crossroads between East and West. Combining contemporary and traditional elements, the line is inspired by a man with a great sense of sophistication. The modern Afffair man is a dandy and charismatic figure who naturally attracts attention by his strong character and enigmatic personality. The brand comes from an apparel and leather production heritage. This valuable experience and vertical capabilities allows the brand to control the value chain from the creative process, design and production development of new and innovative materials to creating a “state of the art” garment.

Considered as an integral location to cater to the GCC market, as well as a fashion hub for up and coming designers, Dubai is a strategic choice for the collection to be available for its consumers. In accordance, the brand will soon announce the location of the fashion house’s first point of sale in the region. Rufat expresses his joy by saying “We are looking forward to our first store in the Middle East, a dynamic new market for Afffair. This signifies an important highlight for the brand as we continue to expand and build on a strong foundation.”
