The Social Development Bank (SDB) is participating as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s official delegation, organized by the Ministry of Culture, at Expo 2025 — held in Osaka, Japan — from 8 to 17 July. This national presence aims to spotlight Saudi Arabia’s cultural diversity and developmental renaissance, while reflecting the Kingdom’s civilizational identity.
SDB’s participation includes an interactive welcome space located within the Saudi Pavilion’s Wonder of Arabia area — the first point of reception for visitors in the Saudi zone. This vibrant space showcases the Kingdom’s cultural and economic identity and has been creatively designed to blend the authenticity of Saudi heritage with modern interactive presentation. It offers a rich experience that embodies the spirit of openness and innovation characterizing Saudi Arabia’s presence at Expo 2025.
As part of its contribution, SDB is introducing the innovative “Tajseed” experience, which merges traditional Saudi craftsmanship with contemporary global aesthetics. The experience features a curated selection of handcrafted products representing more than 20 productive families from various regions across the Kingdom. These families were carefully chosen to reflect the country’s geographic and cultural diversity, while meeting the highest standards of quality and innovation.
This participation reflects SDB’s strategic focus on supporting and empowering productive families, microenterprises, freelancers, and artisans by enabling them to showcase their products on global platforms. It contributes to highlighting the quality and cultural depth of Saudi-made goods and opens new opportunities for accessing international markets. It also aligns with the Bank’s efforts to reinforce national identity through traditional crafts and heritage products that embody the Kingdom’s history and cultural richness in a modern form that reflects the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.
Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Humaidi, CEO of the Social Development Bank, stated:
“SDB’s participation in Expo 2025 is a continuation of our developmental mission to support and empower productive families and microenterprises. It reflects our commitment to providing both local and global marketing platforms that help enhance growth and sustainability. Through the Tajseed experience — which fuses authentic Saudi craftsmanship with global taste — we aim to showcase the beauty of local products in a modern spirit that appeals to international markets. Through this participation, we also seek to promote Saudi crafts globally and highlight their richness and diversity.”
Expo 2025 officially opened in Osaka, Japan, on 13 April and will run until 13 October 2025, under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” The event features the participation of over 150 countries and international organizations and is considered one of the most prominent global events held every five years. This edition focuses on three main pillars: “Saving Lives,” “Empowering Lives,” and “Connecting Lives.”
