Sajaya Young ladies of Sharjah and Emirates Airline Festival of Literature sign MoU

to support women Creativity in Arts and Literature

Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah and the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature (EAF), have signed a two-year Memorandum of Understating (MoU) to strengthen mutual cooperation and nurture talented young women to be future leaders.
MOU aims to serves as a framework for cooperative programmes to encourage creativity and innovation among young ladies, and to discover and foster Sajaya's talented young women and empower them to excel and lead. It also aims to raise awareness to increase community's commitment to supporting creativity and innovation.

The MOU was signed by HE Sheikha Aisha Khalid Al Qasimi, Director of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, and Manisha Dutt, Sponsorship Manager at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature.

Under the terms of the MoU, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah will support EAFL's efforts to boost the role of cultural institutions and organisations that fall under the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature and provide interns as volunteers at its various events.
Sajaya will also cooperate with EAFL in providing workshops on arts, music and theatre and sending its members to participate as volunteers in the event. Sajaya's trained specialists will be part of EAFL's criticism committee and provide consultancy and workshops to support its efforts.

As per the MOU, EAFL will provide tailor-made workshops, programmes and internship opportunities as well as a library containing books on different disciplines for Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah. It will also support talented women in literature and help publish their work, and nominate members of Sajaya to participate in local, Arab, and international culture, art, music and theatre- related events and programmes.

HE Sheikha Aisha Khalid Al Qasimi, Director of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, said: "The signing of the MOU between Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah and the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature will help support talented young women and provide them with an environment that stimulates their creativity and diligence. The MOU also signifies a stronger relationship with EAFL which enables us to cooperate for the empowerment of these young girls and help create future women leaders."

She further noted: "More attention needs to be paid to nurturing talented young women not just mentoring them, but actively sponsoring them as future artists and leaders."

HE Sheikha Aisha reaffirmed that "The UAE leadership's support, guidance and determination to engage Emirati women and enable them to work shoulder-to-shoulder with their male partners, inspire us to encourage young women at Sajaya to take their part in building the future of the country."

She emphasised that Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah is committed to developing the creative talent of young girls, in keeping with the directives of HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.

Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah is a leading organisation dedicated to nurturing talented young women in the age group 12 to 18 years in various fields of creativity. It was originally founded under the umbrella of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs as a subsidiary department of the Sharjah Children Centres.
It aims to develop greater attention and incentives towards cultivating inventiveness while supporting young girls who are ambitious and committed to pursuing a bright future for themselves and the Emirate of Sharjah.
