‘RED ALERT’ LEGENDS SELFIE FOR ABU DHABI HSBC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

Fans sporting ‘Championship red’ unexpectedly starred in a sporting legend selfie at Abu Dhabi Golf Club today as golf’s ‘Pink Panther’  Paula Creamer captured the ‘Dress In Red’ moment with former British tennis ace Tim Henman, at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship which reaches its climax today.

The selfie with the HSBC ambassadors came just shortly after Creamer, a former US Women’s Open champion said golf should follow the mixed doubles example of tennis and this year’s return of golf to the Olympics could open the door for the sport to take such an innovative step.

“Any time we’re on the same stage as the men, it promotes us and helps our golf. I think it would be awesome to see a team event at the Olympics. They are so exciting,” Paula told ProGolf Now.

Boasting the world’s best players – four of the world’s Top 6 are vying for the annual Falcon Trophy and a share of its US $2.7 million prize purse - and off-course entertainment, ‘Dress in Red Day’ drew thousands into the Championship Village and packed galleries, with even world number three Rory McIlroy sporting ‘Championship red’ trousers for the occasion.
