Oregano opens its first restaurant in Abu Dhabi at Al Forsan Village Town Square

The world was presented with a whole new cuisine after the introduction of bell peppers, potatoes, tomatoes and maize in the 18th century, the primary ingredients of Italian cuisine. Since then, it has been welcomed and embraced worldwide for its abundance of flavours and is now the most popular cuisine in the world. Oregano, inspired by the Ligurian cuisine, boasts 8 restaurants in Dubai, and is all geared up for the launch of their first restaurant in Abu Dhabi at Al Forsan Village Town Square.

Besides Oregano, the brands at the Town Square include Spinneys Hypermarket, Holland & Barrett, Al Manara Pharmacy, JustKidding, Grand Optics, Street9 Cafe, Illy Café, Dantel & More, Coffee Club, Physiomins, Tilia Flowers, Reem Al Bawadi, Champion Cleaners, B&Y Electronics and Cheeky Monkeys. Other utility service providers including an Etisalat kiosk is also open. Al Forsan Village is Abu Dhabi’s first active health focused mixed-use development.

The seeds of Oregano go all the way back to the mid 1900’s when Siegfried, a German chef, left home in Cologne and traveled around Europe in search of flavours. When Siegfried reached Liguria in the North West coast of Italy, he discovered a cuisine that captured his palate and he started his own restaurant. It was only when his son, Maurizio, along with Tony and George, who had a passion for cooking, worked together to replicate the flavours from Liguria, that they decided to embark on their journey to open a small restaurant in Dubai.

The ambience at Oregano is that of a casual Italian restaurant with interiors that will invoke the desire to take a stroll on the streets of Italy whilst gorging on their traditional food. Wooden seating in a dimly lit set up and a menu that offers a wide range of Italian delicacies to choose from are sure to take you to the foothills of Liguria.

Their menu offers plenty of authentic Italian dishes including pasta, ravioli, gnocchi, pizza, calzone, risotto among many others. Apart from their regular Italian food, they offer artfully presented delectable dishes from the Chef’s special that will whet your appetite. The restaurant opens from 11 am- 12 am daily and endeavors to cater to the foodies of Abu Dhabi apart from the residents of Al Forsan Village.

The new retail community centre would be the converging point for the residents of the area which is now emerging as a hub for shopping and other retail activities. Al Forsan Village is optimistic that the retail space will become a key destination of choice to unwind for people living in Al Forsan Village and beyond.
