As part of its ongoing efforts to deliver the infrastructure of the water and sanitation services sectors and increase coverage rates, the National Water Company (NWC) announced the completion of a water network project serving 10 districts in the Al Kharj Governorate, located south of Riyadh Region. The project cost more than 13 million Saudi riyals. This project will serve the residents of Al Kharj Governorate and support water sustainability in accordance with the targets of the Saudi Arabian Vision 2030.
The company indicated that the project included implementing water networks totaling more than 19 kilometers long to deliver drinking water to over 14,000 beneficiaries. It also aimed to improve operational efficiency in the daily distribution system in several districts of Al Kharj Governorate, namely Al Ghadeer, Al Hada VI, Al Zaher, Al Andalus, Al Faisaliah, Al Rayyan, Al Muntazah, Al Nuzha, Al Rawabi, and Al-Salamiya.
NWC stressed that it continues to implement infrastructure projects at an accelerated pace to enhance operational efficiency, upgrade service quality, and keep pace with urban growth and increasing water demand. These efforts are in line with the objectives of the National Transformation Program (NTP) initiatives, an executive program of the Saudi Arabian Vision 2030.
