NWC begins 9 water and sanitation projects in Najran at over SR 551 million.

As part of its ongoing efforts to implement its strategic plans to develop infrastructure in the water and sanitation services sectors and increase the coverage of the services it provides to its customers, the National Water Company (NWC) announced that it has begun implementing nine water and sanitation projects in Najran region in the Southern Cluster. These projects include the construction of water and sanitation lines and networks with a total length of more than 366 kilometers at a cost of more than 551 million Saudi Riyals.

 

     The company indicated that it has begun implementing seven water projects in Najran region, which will cover several districts in the city of Najran and a number of governorates, including: Thar, Bir Askar, Qatan, AlMashaaliya, and Al-Hussayniya. These projects will include transmission lines and networks exceeding 357 kilometers in length, as well as pumping stations with a total design capacity of over 53,000 cubic meters per day.

 

     NWC has also begun implementing two sanitation projects in Najran city to connect existing networks in Al-Ma'amar, Rajla, Al-Hussayn, Al-Qabel, Al-Jarbah, Al-Hudn, Al-Safa, Zor Al Harith, and Zor Al Ameri districts, and most of the northern districts in Najran. These projects will connect the existing sanitation networks in these districts to the existing transmission line, which exceeds 9 kilometers in length. The company will also rehabilitate the sewage treatment plant (STP) in Najran city, which has a capacity of 60,000 cubic meters per day.

 

     NWC emphasized that these projects are part of its efforts to boost the water distribution system, eliminate environmental damage, achieve water security and environmental balance, increase service coverage, and provide sustainable drinking water supplies. The company affirmed that it is continuing to implement its strategic plans to raise operational efficiency in the water and sanitation sectors in accordance with the highest standards of quality and performance to achieve the goals of Saudi Arabian Vision 2030.
