‘The good begins and ends with you’ is the title of the upcoming Suhoor event that the public non-profit organisation dedicated to expanding women’s economic opportunities, Nama Women Advancement Establishment (NAMA), will host this Saturday, June 10, to mark the occasion of Ramadan.
The Suhoor is scheduled to begin at 10:00pm at the Kahraman Majlis of Ramadan in Al Jawaher Reception & Convention Centre, Sharjah, UAE.
The evening’s proceedings will witness speeches and talks delivered by a panel of distinguished guests from various fields, such as education, sports, women advancement and culture. Through their participation, the speakers will reflect on the art of giving, and discuss how the act reflects on one’s self, the community and businesses.
The event is open to women in general, as it will be especially beneficial for female entrepreneurs or business owners who are looking to learn about how businesses can affect the community, and how they can benefit society through their businesses.
“This event reflects NAMA’s continuous efforts to enhance communication between women and business leaders in the emirates. One of our core pillars is founded on humanitarianism and a passion for doing good, and what better time than Ramadan to dedicate one’s attention to stories of giving, success and creativity, which will be shared by prominent ladies leading in various fields,” said Reem BinKaram, Director of NAMA.
“This is a call to all women who wish to share their experiences, or would like to be treated to inspiring stories in the field of humanitarian work to attend the Suhoor.”
Three generations of women – grandmothers, mothers and daughters, will be represented by the speakers, who will share first-hand experiences and stories on how their benevolence and spirit of volunteerism in humanitarian work has had a positive impact both on them as individuals and subsequently on society.
Speakers include Shahrazad Mohamed Al Ansaari, who has held several posts in the Ministry of Education and volunteers with the UAE Girls Guides Association; Aisha Al Midfa; member of the women's team that established UAE’s first women's association “Women's Union Association-Sharjah”; Alyazyia Al Suwaidi, an Emirati athlete; Fatima Ahmed Obaid Almogani; ex-member of the Advisory Council of Sharjah and former Chairperson of Sharjah Business Women Council; and Dr Norah Abdulrahman Almidfa, first Emirati school principal, who was the principal at Al-Zahra School.
The session will be moderated by writer and poet, Ms. Salha Ghabish, Director General of the Cultural and Information Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.
