Middlesex University triumphs at the Middle East finals of CIMA Global Business Challenge 2015

Middlesex University has been crowned the regional champion at the Middle East finals of the CIMA Global Business Challenge (GBC) 2015, the international business competition held by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in partnership with Barclays. The Middle East stage of the competition is supported by the Department of Finance - Government of Dubai, Emirates Global Aluminum, Unilever and BMMI.

Team Revenution from the Middlesex University, comprising Rini Jacob, Sarita Rani, Macy D’sa and Mihika Arun, were declared as winners. At the regional finals, the team had to present their solutions to a real-life CIMA business scenario based on the oil and gas industry. They also had to participate in a question and answer session before a panel of judges.

The team will now represent the Middle East region at the global finals in Warsaw, Poland, in August 2015. They will be competing against 25 other teams from across the world.

Dr. Vijaya Kumar, lecturer and representative of the Middlesex University said: “We are thrilled to have won the CIMA Global Business Challenge 2015 regional finals. The competition has been an incredible experience and has allowed us to practice and develop our business knowledge and skills. We’re proud to be representing the Middle East at the global final and hope to show that we can be the best in the world.”


Geetu Ahuja, Head of GCC CIMA said: “Congratulations to the Middlesex University on their outstanding achievement in winning the Middle East final of the CIMA GBC 2015. The standard of all the competitors was very high and it was a privilege to witness such extraordinary performances. The global final will give the team a chance to represent the brightest and best of the Middle East’s emerging business talent. I’m sure they will rise to the challenge and I wish them every success.”
