Children can learn about the art of Middle Eastern cuisine with a lesson from Michelin-starred chef and author, Greg Malouf, and co-author Lucy Malouf, at the 8th Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF), organised by Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) and currently underway at Expo Centre Sharjah until Saturday.
Greg and Lucy are conducting cookery sessions sharing simple, healthy Middle Eastern dish ideas, including Middle Eastern pizza as well as delicious desserts whipped up using cream, lemon and orange blossom. Teaching kids about the basics of local and regional food helps them connect with their past, encourages them to stay healthy in the future, and fosters a love for cooking together as a family, or for communal events where people can come together to connect, celebrate and be social.
Greg Malouf said: “Cooking is such a tactile experience; it gets kids excited and stimulates all of their senses.”
