McDonald’s UAE raises 300,000 Dirhams for Beit Al Khair Orphans

This year’s Ramadan book campaign of McDonald’s UAE had a significant positive impact by raising 300,000 Dirhams for Beit Al Khair Orphans. Now in its seventh consecutive year, the campaign inspired people to spread kindness through buying a large range of kids’ books throughout McDonald’s restaurants across the UAE during the Holy month of Ramadan.

During Ramadan 2015, McDonald’s UAE sold over 60,000 of the specially created books reflecting the Ramadan spirit and human values such as family and friendship bonds, parental love, and teachers’ respect. A special ceremony was held on September 2nd to present the success of the campaign to Beit Al Khair Society. Mr Walid Fakih, General Manager of McDonald’s UAE attended the ceremony to hand over the cheque of 300,000 Dirhams to Mr. Abdeen Taher Al Awadi, General Manager of Beit Al Khair Society.

Commenting on the success of the campaign, Mr. Fakih said: “We are very pleased about the impressive support of the thousands of people who participated in the Ramadan Book Campaign. This truly has been a month of sharing and spreading kindness. Raising the large amount of 300,000 Dirham for orphans and investing in their education with the Ramadan Book Campaign strengthens our determination to support Beit al Khair Society in securing a better future for orphans.”

In addition, Mr. Al Awadi stated: “Seven years ago, McDonald’s UAE and Beit al Khair have joined forces to offer solid educational platforms to orphans in the UAE. As a long-term partner, I very much appreciate McDonald’s UAE for the efforts they have put into this initiative, and the commitment they are showing to supporting our organisation.”
