Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa showed its support for the Kuwait Down Syndrome Society, as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
In a special celebration held under the patronage of Sheikha Sheikha Al-Sabah, Jumeirah Messilah Beach’s management team visited the society and were welcomed by the society co-founded Ms Hessa Al-Baloula.
The event was held to celebrate the partnership and included a cake cutting ceremony in the presence of members of the association, the hotel’s General Manager, Hakan Petek, and members of the Executive Committee, and PR & Marketing team. More than 60 children were also present, accompanied by their parents, families and members of the community.
A local organisation, the Kuwait Down Syndrome Association hosts several workshops throughout the year to empower those with special needs and to encourage them to pursue their interests and participate in meaningful community activities. Activities include arts and crafts, perfume-making and cooking lessons. Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa donated a collection of perfume spices, over 200 perfume bottles and special giveaways in support of the workshops.
General Manager, Hakan Petek, said: “The Kuwait Down Syndrome Association is a valuable contribution to society and I applaud the outstanding efforts of this unique initiative that is achieving a great impact on the lives of people. It is at the forefront of our values and culture to support such initiatives and all categories of our society.”
