The Courtyard Playhouse launches adult improv classes this September to promote empathy, collaboration, and creativity

Dubai – The Courtyard Playhouse, Dubai’s only dedicated improv theatre and KHDA-licensed training center, announces the return of its adult improv classes this September under the seasonal theme “Improv for a Kinder World.” Designed to cultivate generosity, adaptability, and collaboration, the new term offers both trial sessions and structured courses for beginners.

Improvisational theatre has long been associated with quick wit and comedy, but its principles reach far beyond the stage. By championing ideas like “Yes, and…,” listening with care, and making your partner look good, improv fosters empathy and presence—skills that are increasingly valuable in today’s fragmented world.

This season, The Courtyard Playhouse invites the community to experience how improv can shift perspectives, nurture kindness, and build connections through shared creativity.

Upcoming Adult Improv Workshops at The Courtyard Playhouse

Free Trial Class for Adults
Sunday, 24 August – 2:00pm to 6:00pm
A full taster session to experience improv and meet the instructors before joining a course.

Don’t Panic! Intro to Improv – New Term
Starting 30 August
Four options available:
• Saturdays, 5:15pm – 7:15pm (from 30 Aug)
• Sundays, 3:15pm – 5:15pm (from 31 Aug)
• Tuesdays, 7:30pm – 9:30pm (from 2 Sept)
• Thursdays, 7:30pm – 9:30pm (from 4 Sept)

All sessions are held at The Courtyard Playhouse in Al Quoz.
