FRHI HOTELS & RESORTS WRAPS UP SUCCESSFUL GCC GLOBAL SALES ROAD SHOW

- Initiative showcased 20 hotels from the company’s global portfolio over six days -

FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI), the parent company of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts and Raffles Hotels & Resorts, has announced the success of its recent Middle East Global Sales Office Road Show held from 13 – 19 March in Jeddah and Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Doha, Qatar and Kuwait City, Kuwait.
Over 170 attendees from the travel trade industry - from travel consultants, tour managers, corporate business clients to guests - interacted with selected sales representatives from 20 hotels in the global FRHI portfolio, including Fairmont Dubai, Raffles Makkah Palace, Raffles Praslin, The Savoy - a Fairmont Managed Hotel, Raffles Istanbul, Fairmont The Palm, and Fairmont Ajman, which is scheduled to open in May 2015.
The road show was a platform for FRHI to showcase its leading luxury brands and to enhance business partnerships and demonstrate an appreciation for supporting FRHI, as well as to announce individual hotel initiatives for the coming year.
“This global sales initiative in the GCC is now in its fifth year and highlights the business and partnership potential within these vibrant markets,” said Paul Ryan, executive director, travel industry sales, FRHI, adding “it provides our hotels within the FRHI portfolio the opportunity to meet key decision makers and offers them a platform to promote their respective programs and destinations.”
Announcements came from a range of properties including Raffles Praslin, Seychelles which will launch a new helipad facility in May 2015. Departing from Mahé International Airport in the Seychelles, guests will be able to enjoy a private helicopter flight, with scenic views across the archipelago, and a smooth arrival experience by landing directly on the resort’s premises.
Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris announced special Ramadan packages for all GCC guests from June 18 – July 17, 2015, inclusive of a Quran book, prayer mat and a special Iftar menu as well as access to premium services at the iconic Parisian department store Printemps Haussmann. Fairmont The Palm also announced a special year-round family package for holiday makers offering complimentary internet access, a dining resort credit of AED 150 per room, per night, and complimentary access for kids to the Fairmont Falcon Juniors’ Club (up to two hours per child, per stay).
Refurbishments to Fairmont Dubai and Swissôtel The Bosphorus, Istanbul were also revealed during the conference. The recently completed lobby area of Fairmont Dubai included modern interior finishes, new furnishings, a water fountain, rare artwork and an impressive chandelier designed to maintain the authentic character and business ambiance for which the hotel is known. A library lounge consisting of a selection of intellectual books and heritage photographs of various historical and monumental sites across the United Arab Emirates was also incorporated in order to enhance the overall guest experience.
Swissôtel The Bosphorus is currently undergoing an extensive renovation plan valued at over USD $70 million to their East and West Wings and has announced the addition of two storey ‘Loft Suites’, the first of their kind in Istanbul, that will overlook the Bosphorus and be completed in May 2015. Renowned architect, Khuan Chew, who has designed famous landmarks such as Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab and the Sultan of Brunei’s royal palace, was commissioned to complete the renovations with a contemporary and clean design aesthetic and by remaining true to the Swiss heritage of the brand.
A highlight of the conference was the announcement of the soon-to-debut Fairmont Ajman in May 2015. The 14-storey resort featuring 252 guestrooms and suites is just 30 minutes away from Dubai and will feature a range of food and beverage outlets, meeting facilities, spa and fitness center. The hotel will complement the range of Fairmont hotels already in the UAE with Fairmont Dubai, Fairmont the Palm and Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi as established icons successfully operating within the region.
