First Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum

The 39th edition of Middle East Watch & Jewellery Show in Sharjah will host the first “Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum” from 6 to 9 pm on Friday, 9th October. It is a first of its kind initiative by The New Jeweller Group - leading International Media house for the Gems and Jewellery Industry, in association with Expo Centre Sharjah, to bring together Jewellery designers under a single platform to showcase their designs and creativity.

The Designers’ fraternity in the Middle Eastern region have played an important role in transforming the gems and jewellery industry in the gulf and have highlighted the importance of designer jewellery and the aspiration that it builds towards a jewellery piece. There are a number of local as well as multinational educational institutions that are working towards churning out highest calibre designers for the gems and jewellery sector. Leading organisations such as World Gold Council, trade bodies and Jewellery associations have recognised the value of the Design segment in the jewellery by appreciating their good work through awards and accolades. Retailers and manufacturers too have utilised the services of Jewellery designers as a transition towards theme based and value based jewellery range.

The New Jeweller Group has partnered with Expo-Centre, Sharjah so that this important Forum can be held under the aegis of the coveted ‘MidEast Watch and Jewellery show’ that is being organised in Sharjah. Mr. Saif Mohamed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, quoted that Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum will not only be helpful in terms of understanding the importance of design element in any jewellery piece, but will also enlighten the industry members on the future and the role ‘designer jewellery’ will play in making every creation truly “Premium”.

The Forum will also throw light on the achievements of the said jewellery designers highlighting the transformation that they have witnessed in the gems and jewellery industry concerning ‘Jewellery Designs”. Leading designers, retailers and manufacturers will also discuss the importance of “designer jewellery’ and the roadmap ahead through panel discussions during the forum. The “Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum will only grow to Inspire, Educate and Influence the trade members, students and consumers alike as it travels to various destinations in the GCC region year on year”, adds Anand Parameswaran, Business analyst, The New Jeweller Group.

L’azurde, the internationally renowned Jewellery Group from the Middle East is the “Presenting Sponsor” for the Forum. In the Forum they will be able to present their ideas and individuals including students interested in building their career or business in the industry will be able to hear experienced professionals speak”.

The jewellery exhibition is open until 10th October 2015 from 12 noon to 10 pm daily, except Friday from 4 pm to 10 pm. Admission is free for all.
