Experience Flamenco Flavours at Global Village’s Spain Pavilion

The Spain Pavilion at Global Village is offering families the chance to experience a true range of “Flamenco-influenced” flavours from music and dance to fantastic traditional food and organic beauty products.

Spanish influences abound all over the world and the pavilion at Global Village provides a wonderful location for an incredible sensory immersion in all things Spain.

The Spain Pavilion offers a look into Spain’s rich literary history, depicting the Spanish countryside’s iconic windmills as written about in the classic novel Don Quixote. The facade tells the story of a man and his unfortunate decision to fight against wind mills after mistaking them for giants. At night the fantastic windmills light up the sky.

Inside the pavilion guests will discover a tempting array and wide variety of food from Spain ranging from paprika and oil soaked olives from the south of Spain to specially tinned mussels in brine from the northern regions.

La Vera Gourmet is one of the stalls where visitors can discover the true flavours of Spain. Owner, Melba Martin, said: “The products available in the stall have proven very popular, but one of the best sellers is the organic olive oil. It tends to have a much stronger taste than your average olive oil and in Spain we use this olive oil for both eating with bread and for cooking food in. We also sell a lot of tinned seafood from the north of Spain. Seafood is very popular in the North and it is well known as one of the best places to purchase fish and mussels.”

Also on offer are fantastic soaps and bath salts to fill up the family bathroom. Organic soaps made from olive oil are a specialty of one stall in the pavilion, with these soaps being perfect to help skin care. Many of the soaps even look and smell good enough to eat, especially the Chocomint soap and Carrot soap. The anti-aging and anti-wrinkle effects of the olive oil in the soap will keep the skin of the whole family healthy and glowing.

But a visit to the Spain Pavilion would not be complete without experiencing the daily culture show which takes place on the stage at the front of the pavilion. It provides a feast for the senses and includes traditional Flamenco music and dance in traditional costumes.

So to sample something unique and reflecting traditional sounds and products dating back hundreds of years make sure a visit to the Spain Pavilion at Global Village is an essential part of any visit.
