Ericsson: smart metering in power and water at WETEX 2015

• For the first time Ericsson annouces its participating as platinum sponsor for the Water, Energy, Technology and Environmental Exhibition.
• Ericsson will be demonstrating a number of Smart Grid management and communications systems at the upcoming WETEX.
• Environmental sustainability to be one of the core messages behind the Smart Grid system demonstrations.

Ericsson will be participating as a Platinum sponsor at this years’ WETEX 2015 organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in Dubai, on April 21-23 at the Dubai International Convention Centre.

Visitors will be offered a sneak peak at Ericsson’s innovative technology aimed at enhancing the utilities sector, particularly their Smart Grid communications and metering solutions. Various demonstrations will be taking place at the Ericsson stand in order to address the anticipated needs of the Utilities sector. These include, amongst others Smart Grid Communication aimed at creating smart energy networks which are enabled to manage large amounts of data, smart grid Management, nodes, grid monitoring using smart metering and Smart4Society.

Commenting on Ericsson’s participation, Rutger Reman, Head of Industry & Society, Ericsson, Region Middle East said: “We are anticipating billions of devices to be connected to the energy smart grid by the year 2020, which is why we are taking action at arming the utilities sector with smart energy networks that are enabled to manage large amounts of data now. This will make opportunities for efficient grid and energy consumption more accessible when it is needed most. We look forward to sharing our pioneering solutions at our very first WETEX participation.”
