Empower urges exhibitors at Big Five Show 2015 to showcase latest district cooling (DC) solutions

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, has urged construction material vendors exhibiting at The Big 5 International Building & Construction Show held in Dubai between 23 – 26 November to emphasise on latest district cooling solutions. 

“The UAE construction industry is expected to record steady growth in coming years. A study by Business Monitor International has revealed that for the year 2014, the construction sector witnessed a growth of 5.5% with total value of AED143bn in 2014 compared to AED 132.9bn in 2013. The value of the sector is expected to grow by 9.3% to AED155.2bn in 2015, compared to 2014. Viewed against these developments, integrating district cooling in the construction projects is no longer an option but a must for companies to ensure environmental efficiency,” noted Bin Shafar.

“Empower always reaches out to the main players in the construction industry for familiarising them with the benefits of applying DC systems.  The benefits to the environment and economy in the long run significantly fuel sustainability, efficiency, and reliability of cooling for the construction sector. We also think of it the other way around: if the construction industry becomes aware of the huge value that DC brings, there will be faster adoption of green practices and smart transformation of Dubai. That is why we always explore cooperation opportunities with new partners to enhance adoption of DC in new construction projects,” he added.

Moreover, Empower is collaborating with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) in rehabilitation and restoration projects for thousands of old buildings in the Emirate.

“We have several expansion projects, which requires extensive research and interaction. We also seek to share our successful experience and demonstrate the reliability of district cooling as the best alternative solution for conventional cooling methods,” said Bin Shafar.

​The Big 5 is the largest trade exhibition in the Middle East for construction products and materials, attracting industry professionals. With a 30-year history, this event regularly draws exhibitors from around the world.
