Empower showcases its global success at Vienna and Boston events

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (EMPOWER), world’s largest district cooling service provider,has further boosted itsstanding as akey playerinadvocating the use of district cooling technology as an alternative to conventional cooling solutions, following its successful participation in the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)Vienna Energy Forum 2015 in Austria and the 106th International District Energy Association (IDEA) Annual Conference and Trade Show in Boston, USArecently. 

 

“We set up an accurate measurement and performance monitoring system marking a world first,” says HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, Chief Executive Officer of Empower. “We also created a model project that can be emulatedinternationally. Empower is growing in stature as the most effective provider of this service across all areas, including technical service, design, training, capacity building, communication and round the clock availability.”

 

Recently, delegates led by Ahmad Bin Shafar, from Empower participated in the 106thIDEA Annual Conference and Trade Show; Bin Shafar also attended the IDEA Board of Directors Meeting being a member. 

 

Earlier, the delegation visited Austria to participate in the Vienna Energy Forum 2015, basking once against in global spotlight. Empower team has also participated and contributed towards UNEP’s Global Energy Cities” Initiative.

 

Empower showcased Dubai’s experience in district cooling through a series of case studies. “The main intention was to explore opportunities for developing district cooling and highlight advanced technology in this vital sector among specialists from all over the world. We take pride in being the largest global provider not only in the Middle East, but in the world,” said Bin Shafar.

 

The company was presented with the IDEA Gold Space Award for the total square feet of district cooling committed and IDEA Silver Award for total number of buildings committed to the system, as well as the Innovation Award 2015 for its Centralized Metering Data Management System that manages more than 50,000 smart meters.

 

“Empower’s presence in such major specialised world-class events is essential, as global organisations appreciate our role in setting new standards for the district cooling industry. We have achieved the highest accuracy in performance and environmental sustainability in line with the vision of Dubai and the UAE government,” added Bin Shafar.

 

“There is no doubt that this global recognition puts greater responsibilityon us, and will drive us to further develop the service and enhance the levels of innovation and creativity in daily operations,” concluded Bin Shafar. 

 

Empower currently operates more than 1 Million RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, among others.
