Empower awarded CSR Label from Dubai Chamber for the second time in a row

Empower, the world’s largest district cooling services provider, has been awarded the Dubai Chamber CSR Label honoring its sustainable and responsible corporate operations and its role in serving the society. The company was awarded the label at an event held at Dubai Chamber’s headquarters. 

“This achievement reflects the excellence of social practices at Empower and our focus on adopting efficiency and responsibility in all our operations. Moreover, it reflects the commitment of our personnel serving the communities in which we operate. We are very pleased to receive this honor for the second time in a row. Also, we would like to congratulate all the companies who have also received this label that clearly demonstrates the endeavor of the public and private sectors in the region to adopt latest CSR measures,” said HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

The company was awarded the CSR Label following a comprehensive assessment of its social commitment, corporate strategy, management practices, customer satisfaction, environmental impact and social initiatives. 

Launched by Dubai Chamber, the Corporate Social Responsibility Label functions as a concise and voluntary framework for all aspects of business operations, and is a voluntary standard for the workplace, marketplace, community and environment. 

“We are committed to provide services responsibly to our customers, shareholders, community, employees and environment. This label is recognition of our commitment and we hope to continue this high level engagement with our stakeholders in the future,” continued Bin Shafar.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry awarded 20 companies with CSR Label for their corporate social responsibility and sustainability practices during a recognition ceremony held at its premises to highlight the pioneering role of those companies in CSR and sustainability of their operations. 221 CSR labels were awarded since the launch of this initiative in 2010. 

This label provides a framework that helps companies to define and improve their corporate social responsibility and sustainability performance and also gives them the opportunity to enhance their reputation as leaders in achieving sustainability.

Empower currently operates more than one million hundred thousand RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, among others.
