Emirates Grand Hotel unveils hotel apartments

Alcohol-free hotel apartment will serve guests looking for dry hotels and family-friendly accommodations

Emirates Grand Hotel is pleased to announce the opening of Emirates Grand Hotel Apartments, a 346-key full serviced apartment along Sheikh Zayed Road, that will meet the demands of guests looking for medium to long-term stays.

The alcohol-free hotel apartment will serve guests looking for dry hotels and family-friendly accommodation with good facilities. Guests from the Gulf countries, such as Saudi Arabia who look for accommodation which caters to their beliefs, are the key market of Emirates Grand Hotel Apartments in addition to guests from Europe and South Asia.

The opening of the hotel apartment is a result of the ongoing drive towards diversification of accommodation for the increasing number of tourists to Dubai. Hotel apartments account for 28 per cent of the room stock in Dubai, which has the highest concentration of such units in the UAE. There were 24,924 rooms from hotel apartments as of August, according to a study. In addition, reports showed that visitor numbers to Dubai grew by five per cent from January to November 2014 compared with the same period in 2013. The occupancy rate at serviced apartments last year reached 82 per cent, a year-on-year increase of 6.5 per cent.

Tarek Aouini, Head of Hospitality and General Manager, Emirates Grand Hotel Apartments, said: “The development of Emirates Grand Hotel Apartments marks another milestone in the portfolio of innovative and commercially viable projects that contribute to the steady growth of Dubai’s society.
