Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, showcased a bouquet of lucrative investment opportunities and incentives for the German business community at a business event held on May 5 at The Westin Grand Frankfurt Hotel in Germany.
Led by Dr Juma Al Matrooshi, Senior Executive Vice President – Commercial at DSOA in the presence of His Excellency Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, the delegation included senior officials from DSOA, as well as two representatives from companies currently operating at DSO - Sasan Tabib, CEO and Co-Founder of Chip 1 Exchange, and Sabrina Hardt, Director, Strategy & Central Functions at the SAP Training and Development Institute.
Through this event in Frankfurt, the DSO delegation welcomed German high-tech investors, CEOs and managers of leading technology companies, business and management consultants, entrepreneurs, chartered accountants, and industry experts to discuss investment opportunities in Dubai and the integrated hi-tech park.
The Dubai-based delegation detailed procedures for setting up business at the Dubai Silicon Oasis, and provided a general overview on the competitive advantages, prospects, growth opportunities and benefits of operating out of the hi-tech park.
UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Support
Speaking of the UAE delegation’s successful outing, Dr Juma Al Matrooshi commended the support of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its leading role in the planning and execution of the event.
He said: “We would like to particularly recognize His Excellency Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi’s great support throughout the planning and execution of the event. His relentless efforts led to positive publicity for the road show, and convened the significant participation of senior officials from several leading German corporations.”
DSOA’s International and Local Marketing Efforts
In its efforts to position the hi-tech park among the top free zones locally, regionally and internationally, DSOA spares no efforts to promote DSO as the preferred destination for technology companies to start operations and setup their headquarters.
Through a series of commercial spots within local broadcast stations, digital screens in major locations in Dubai as well as newspapers and magazines, DSO has been able to target the local audience and address their interests.
Additionally, on an international scale, DSO has been participating in various events and roadshows abroad, to position itself as one of the most prominent and hi-tech free zones in Dubai for businesses to base their operations.
Commenting on the new international positioning strategy, Adnan Al Bahar, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at DSOA, said: “We have lately unveiled DSOA’s 2021 strategy that was developed in collaboration with international auditing and financial advisory Deloitte. Based on this new strategy, we came up with a marketing plan based on the firm’s recommendations that have resulted in an international advertising campaign covering key global markets.”
The DSO campaign targets the wider Gulf nations as well as the promising Chinese and German markets through a number of leading print and broadcast media spots as well as online placements within top tier publications and websites in the select markets.
“We devised the new marketing strategy this year to facilitate DSOA’s access to international markets. As part of this new strategy, we will also be targeting the Chinese market through a roadshow that will be conducted in June 2015.”
