April 5th 2015, Dubai, UAE: Dubai Marina’s first and only regular comedy night, Frankie’s Comedy Cellar, is bringing the laughter with its inaugural show this Saturday, April 11, with a line up showcasing some of the UAE’s best local comedians.

Live from JBR’s Frankie’s Bar and Grill, Frankie’s Comedy Cellar will run for eight weeks in its first season with a rotating cast of comedians and happy hour offers from 6pm.

Opening night will see Canadian host Dave Marosi on MC duties with local Emirati comedian Omar Kazim opening proceedings. Also featured on the bill is Australian BB, British favourite John Boulton, all-American banker Tony B Graham, Lebanese funny man Rayan H Karaky and Tai Optimusgrind Paschall, Dubai’s king of urban comedy.

“Frankie’s is a Dubai institution so it’s an amazing opportunity to be able to bring comedy to the Marina in this unique, intimate setting already known for its great entertainment and live jazz,” said Marosi.

“The comedy scene in Dubai right now is really blowing up and there’s a great crop of comedians bringing some real talent to the stage and the audiences are loving it. It’s like New York in the 70’s or 80’s, exploding with great talent and great material and Frankie’s Comedy Cellar is the best place where audiences can see and experience this amazing movement.

“People love to laugh, they love the self-reflection and honesty of comedy and I know they love great food so we can’t wait to bring this live from Frankie’s every week.”

The weekly event will add to Dubai’s growing comedy scene with a venue that offers the perfect mix of atmosphere and ambiance where comedians and fans can enjoy Dubai’s hottest comedy and authentic Italian in an environment rich with character and laughter.

Frankie’s Comedy Cellar's first season will run for eight weekly shows every Saturday from 7 – 9pm.
