Dubai International Academy: First runner up at International Swimming Championship

Dubai International Academy is the first runner up in the International Swimming Competition. The competition took place at the Hamdan Swimming Complex on 15 October 2016 from 8:00am until 5:30pm. It was officiated by FINA (Fédération Internationale de Natation – an international board) certified judges from the UAE Swimming Federation.

Last year, it was a major event with over 350 exceptional swimmers from 10 different schools. Some of the 10 schools that competed this year included the Raffles World Academy, American School of Dubai, American Community School, Gems World Academy, Collegiate American School and American School of Doha etc.

Overall, the girls performed better than the boys but final decisions were based on combined scores for each school. DIA came out shining by moving up by a rank this year and beating some big rivals like the Dubai American Academy and American Community School of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The event was competitive and the swimmers performed remarkably. The state of the art facility, fantastic athletes, and an enthusiastic audience ensured that this event was memorable.
