As part of its support to the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a corporate volunteering activity by packing and distributing Ramadan gift packs for the dhow sailors at Dubai Creek.
Organised in collaboration with The Angel Appeal charitable initiative, Dubai Chamber staff packed and presented 1,000 Ramadan gift packs containing personal use items which were enthusiastically received by the sailors working on the dhows moored on Dubai Creek.
Participating in the gift-wrapping activity were H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman, and directors of Dubai Chamber, who filled up and packed the personal items which were later distributed to the dhow sailors by the Chamber staff.
Said H.E. Al Ghurair, “Dubai Chamber believes in promoting and supporting philanthropic and charitable work to bring joy to the less privileged members of the community as initiated by our elders and instilled in the hearts of our citizens and residents by the country’s leaders.
“The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan has set an example in mammoth charity work and has made the UAE one of the leading countries globally in the area of providing humanitarian and charitable support to underprivileged and the needy in far corners of the world,” he said.
This unique initiative is part of the Chamber’s Ramadan activities including the sponsoring of the first session of the Islamic Lecture and hosting of the 20th session of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award at its premises.
