Disney star Laura Marano gets ready to dazzle Dubai at DSS 2015

-                Female lead of the hit TV series Austin & Ally and award-winning actress to be the first teen celebrity to arrive in Dubai as part of the exciting DSS Starz series

-              Residents and visitors from around the world can get excited over a number of celebrity sightings and the opportunity to meet a galaxy of young global stars in Dubai this summer. The DSS Starz series, an exciting new addition to the packed calendar of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) events, is bringing to the city a high dose of Hollywood glamour, with Laura Marano – the celebrated Disney Television starlet, opening the series with her glittering presence.

One of the brightest multi-talented personalities from Tinseltown, Laura Marano recently won Best Actress on TV at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards for her lead role in Disney Channel TV series Austin & Ally. Last year, she bagged a Teen Choice nomination for Choice TV actress in a comedy. Laura is nominated again this year for Teen Choice Awards for Choice Summer TV Star.

As part of her Dubai itinerary, Laura will visit Modhesh World on 5 August, and will perform at a special show on 6 August at Ibn Battuta Mall at 5:30pm in China Court. A personal moment with the young celebrity is set to be another fantastic treat for audiences with Laura appearing for an hour-long Meet-and-Greet session after her performance.

A versatile TV and film personality, Laura debuted in George Clooney’s and Steven Soderbergh’s movie “The Jacket” and was most recently seen playing the lead role in Disney Channel’s original movie “Bad Hair Day”, in which she plays a high school tech whiz determined to be crowned prom queen.

A promising songstress, Laura has lent her voice to a number of widely successful animated films, including “Finding Nemo” and “Ice Age 2: The Meltdown.” Having written over 100 songs, Laura is now recording her music after signing with Big Machine Records, home to Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, and Rascal Flatts amongst others.

Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), DSS 2015 will take place until 5 September, under the theme ‘45 Days of Summer’, offering fantastic shopping, entertainment, leisure and winning opportunities for residents and visitors from around the world.
