Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will organise brainstorming sessions run by local and international experts in water, energy, and environment during the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2015. WETEX is held under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of DEWA, from 21-23 April at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. “Adding the brainstorming sessions to WETEX’sagenda supports the Government Creativity Lab initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which has beenadopted by DEWA as a standard practice. The sessions support the National Innovation Strategy, launched by His Highness to position the UAE as one of the most innovative countries in the world. They also support the Dubai Innovation Strategy, announced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, to make Dubai the most innovative city in the world. The brainstorming sessions align with announcing 2015 as The Year of Innovation in the UAE and underlineDEWA’s efforts to drive innovation and creativity in energy, renewable and clean energy, and water,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA and President and Founder of WETEX.
“DEWA supports the efforts of our wise leadership to establish Dubai and the UAE as a platform for innovation and as a creativity incubator. To achieve its vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility, we adopt the Creativity Lab experience as a standard practice in all our operations. This drives organisational excellence, increases efficiency and performance, and improves government services to establish Dubai and the UAE as the most creative and innovative in the world. We will use the opportunity of having a large number of experts and specialistsin water, energy, gas and environment at WETEX, and provide them with a platform to present their ideas and innovations. We are confident that thesecollaborative and collective efforts will result in many innovative ideas and creative solutions for the benefit of energy, water, and the environment worldwide,” added Al Tayer.
The brainstorming sessions at WETEX enhance the leading position of Dubai and the UAE as a global hub that attracts experts, and makes Dubai a platform for new innovations that support energy, water, and environmental sustainability issues. A number of renewable-energy companies and representatives of non-profit organisations, supervised by a specialised committee from DEWA, will regulate the sessions to guarantee they achieve the maximum results and come up with effective solutions.
DEWA’sbrainstormingsessions during WETEX 2015 add to the public discussion sessions that DEWA has been organising for several years. These support its efforts to enhance Dubai’s position as a city that adopts best global energy solutions.
