Centro Capital Centre Organizes a Blood Donation Drive

 Centro Capital Centre by Rotana in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Blood Bank organized a blood donation campaign in an effort to educate the community about the importance of donating blood to help saving lives.

This annual Corporate Social Responsibility initiative aims to spread awareness among its colleagues on the benefits of donating blood and engage them to support their community. Moreover, donating blood serves the needs of the local community and Its services extend to Thalassemia patients road accident and burn victims, patients with neonates and maternity health complications, cases diagnosed with cancer or scheduled for open heart operations as well as to all private health facilities within Abu Dhabi that are entitled for transfusion services.

We recognize the importance of such initiatives in saving lives, especially during times of emergency. Blood collection from voluntary blood donors is the cornerstone of a safe and sufficient blood supply in all countries. More voluntary blood donors are needed to meet the increasing needs and to improve access to this life-saving therapy.

Abu Dhabi Blood Bank (ADBB), located in the Al Khalidiyah area, is managed by the Laboratory Medicine department of Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. Supplying blood 24 hours a day, the ADBB functions as the major blood source for SKMC and the majority of Abu Dhabi’s hospitals.
