Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI), a leading academic solutions provider which manages both International School of Arts and Sciences (ISAS) and Al Mawakeb Schools, were announced winners at the 4th annual edition of the American University Dubai School Sports Challenge (AUD SSC), which was held on 20th February 2015 in Dubai.
The American University in Dubai (AUD) organized its third annual School Sports Challenge (AUD SSC), under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the National Olympics Committee in the UAE. The event is a multisport festival featuring girls’ and boys’ teams, as well individual athletes, competing in various sports such as swimming, soccer, basketball, volleyball, running and tug-of-war. This year, AUD welcomed several schools including Al Mawakeb School - Al Barsha and Al Garhoud, American School of Dubai, GEMS Al Khaleej National School – Dubai, and International School of Arts and Sciences (ISAS), among other schools.
AMSI schools’ participation at the AUD Schools Sports Challenge showcases the institute strong belief that academic learning and sporting education complement each other and that healthy competitions facilitate the all-round development AMSI Schools provide to their students. The event was a great platform for motivating student athletes, offering them an opportunity to showcase their sporting skills whilst enjoying healthy competition and encouraging interaction amongst students in today’s diverse world.
2015 AUD School Sports Challenge Winners
The International School of Arts and Sciences (ISAS) was awarded first place in the soccer tournament, while Al Mawakeb School Al Barsha – Girls was the second place recipient. The first place winner of the volleyball tournament was Al Mawakeb School Al Barsha – Girls, while the second place was taken by Al Mawakeb School Al Barsha – Boys. Al Mawakeb School Al Garhoud – Girls came in at third place in the basketball competition.
The 2015 edition of AUD SSC witnessed active participation from 17 schools representing around 1200 students across the UAE. The winners were awarded trophies and medals to commemorate their success in a gala closing ceremony held at the American University Dubai campus. Several others gifts of iPods, iPhone and iPads were given out in a raffle draw during the event.
