Al Qasba Street Fiesta Pulling in Tourists and Visitors

Sharjah is continuing to pull in the crowds for its annual Street Fiesta (QABAM), which is currently underway at Al Qasba. Sharjah’s premier leisure and family destination is hosting the second edition of the 10-day event, with activities taking place each evening from 5:00pm - 10:00pm.

QABAM has been enjoying a high visitor footfall since commencing its programme on March 9, with parents and children immersing themselves in the array of entertainment options on offer. A number of artists performing at the festival have travelled from abroad to be able to participate, bringing their skills and fun-packed repertoires to highly appreciative new audiences.

Among the international artists performing at QABAM is Blanko from Germany, who is hosting an interactive show that enables children to cover him in paint, much to their delight. Spanish artist Mauranga has been entertaining the crowds with his daily routine that fuses circus acts, theatre, music and comedy, with his tools of trade including balls, hats and variously-sized unicycles. Fellow European artist Gennaro from Italy has completed a 3D multicolour chalk art drawing, which he has been working on for three days. Located on  Al Qasba walkway near the Eye of the Emirate Wheel, the fascinating piece of street art creates a stunning optical illusion.

Other activities keeping young and old occupied at QABAM include ceramic gnome painting, with children given the chance to decorate one of Snow White’s famous seven dwarves. Another popular attraction is the ‘Box of Art’ installation activity, which involves stacking cubes with different themes to create interesting stories.

Al Qasba offers a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art facilities and tourist attractions, including restaurants, cafes, a Kids’ Fun Zone, the Al Qasba Musical Fountain, the Eye of the Emirates Wheel and the Maraya Art Centre, among many others. The family destination prides itself on giving visitors of all ages the opportunity to enjoy culture, entertainment and leisure attractions that represent the very best from the Arab world and beyond.
