Al Noor Hospitals Group Plc (‘Al Noor’), the largest private healthcare service provider in Abu Dhabi, is pleased to announce the appointment of Donna Lunn as Chief Information Officer. Ms Lunn will start work at Al Noor later in March 2015.

Ronald Lavater, Chief Executive Officer, Al Noor Hospitals Group Plc, said: “We are committed to continuing to invest in health information technology to position Al Noor for long-term growth. Under Donna’s leadership we will accelerate our efforts to fully integrate our health information system across our network of 17 outpatient locations and 3 hospitals. This will give our nurses and doctors improved access to patient records enhancing patient safety and overall patient satisfaction.”

Ms Lunn joins Al Noor from Abu Dhabi Health Services (SEHA) where, over the last six years as Group Clinical Applications Director, she led the transformation of clinical care with the implementation of the electronic medical record system known as Malaffi. Under her leadership, all of the SEHA hospitals have been certified as HIMSS Level 6, making it the only healthcare system outside of the US with all of its hospitals at such a level.

With over 35 years of experience in the healthcare sector, Ms. Lunn began her career as a medical technologist and took part in the implementation of one of the world’s first electronic order entry systems. She then worked at the healthcare information technology firm, HBO and Company, now part of McKesson Corporation, for six years following which she moved to First Consulting Group, a US healthcare IT consulting firm.

In 2000, Ms Lunn was appointed by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre as Project Director for the selection and implementation of UPMC’s enterprise wide electronic medical record system. UPMC is one of the largest and most highly rated US healthcare systems with 21 hospitals and over 400 locations Donna’s final position at UPMC was CIO for the International and Commercial Services Division, which resulted in her relocation to London.

Ms Lunn holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Service Management from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
