Ahmed Mahboob Musabih honors winners of DC Employee Satisfaction Cup 2015

Dubai Customs (DC) has hosted an awarding ceremony for winners of the Employee Satisfaction Cup 2015, a novel initiative launched last October within DC for the purpose of creating a work environment that ensures higher employee engagement, competitiveness and eventually satisfaction, and delivers mutual benefits to both the organization and its people.

H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, Buti Al Jumairi, Executive Director of HR, Finance and Administration Division, and a host of first-line and second-line officials attended the ceremony.

Musabih awarded the Customer Management Division (CMD) as the division that achieved the highest employee satisfaction score in 2015, where the CMD’s Customs Refund and Makasa Department topped the list for highest employee satisfaction among all DC departments, with a score of 98.87 per cent.

The organization units that met the job satisfaction target score of 95 per cent were also recognized. These are Customs Declaration Management, and the Strategy and Corporate Excellence Department. Likewise, the departments that went close to the target scoring between 90 and 94 per cent were also among top achievers that hit the podium, namely Customer Service Management, Internal Affairs Department, Jebel Ali Customs Centres Management, Inland Customs Centres Management, and last but not least the Customs Cases & Investigation Department.

H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih congratulated the wining departments, saying “We are thrilled to see employees actively taking part in this initiative. Employees’ satisfaction and, more importantly, their happiness are the foundation of this institution and a major drive towards its success and progress.

“Dubai Customs strives to create a stimulating and motivating work environment for employees. To that end, we continue to launch employee-oriented initiatives that ensure transparency, empowerment and effective communication are in place,” H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih said.

Buti Al Jumairi, Executive Director of HR, Finance and Administration Division, said that the Employee Satisfaction Cup initiative aimed “to enhance our employees’ satisfaction levels through a healthy and friendly kind of competition that will have a big impact on how they perform and support each other within the organization.”

In support of the initiative, Dubai Customs organized the first discussion forum titled, ‘Together for Dubai Customs Employee Happiness’; which was designed to address job satisfaction in an effort to retain DC’s human capital of experts, specialists, technicians and experienced personnel.

The gathering brought together the recently-named ‘ambassadors of happiness’, representing various departments and customs centers, whose mission is to ensure a friendly and motivating work environment that would generate uppermost levels of job satisfaction among employees.
