US Consul General visits AUS

Consul General of the United States in Dubai and the Northern Emirates Paul Malik, , visited American University of Sharjah (AUS) yesterday, Tuesday, December 15, 2015. AUS Chancellor Dr. Björn Kjerfve, welcomed Consul General Malik and the two discussed higher education in the United Arab Emirates.

 Consul General Malik noted how impressed he was with the AUS officials, campus, and academic programs. “This remarkable institution is a wonderful example of the Ruler of Sharjah’s commitment to higher education.”
 

The Consul General and his team were also received by Deans and senior AUS officials. US Consulate was accompanied by Public Affairs Officer Peter Brown and Political-Economic Officer Caroline Buddenhagen.

The visitors were briefed on the programs on offer at AUS as well as the university’s future plans and development initiatives. The meeting also touched upon the role and status of education in the region.
