Internationally acclaimed artist Hesham Malik, today painted 3 live canvases at the Rashid Paediatric Centre along with the special needs children in Dubai. Guest of honor HH Sheikh Juma ‎ bin Maktoum al Maktoum felicitated the artist, Hesham for his notable contribution to the global art market. Hesham Malik is recognized globally for his significant initiative to encourage and inculcate a sense of art amongst the children. The guest of honor, HH Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum al Maktoum is a philanthropist both in the UAE and globally, with interest in sustainable development projects, particularly in the healthcare and education sectors. The live canvas painted today along with the 20 original images from Hesham Malik’s new collection Esparito (Spirit), will be auctioned in an exquisite event towards the end of May.
An art lover, Ayesha Imtiaz present at the event said, “It was a delight to see the sparkle in the children’s eye while painting alongside the noble artist. It was very kind of Mr. Hesham to spend three hours with the children drawing out their passion for painting.”

Passionate art lover, collector and curator of Esparito, Manisha Sugandh, who witnessed the workshop said, “These children have an inherent energy about them. They radiate it even through their innocent silence. I wanted to bring the nobility in Hesham’s artistic expression and merge it with the innocence of these wondrous children.”

The event today is a prelude to the upcoming charity art auction, to showcase the artist’s new collection titled Esparito (Spirit) in the UAE. The famed British auctioneers Sotheby’s will be conducting their first ever art auction at the end of May in Dubai. A member of Dubai’s Ruling Family will be the Guest of Honour at this auction cum charity evening where 20 paintings by internationally acclaimed artist Hesham Malik will go under the hammer. The proceeds from the event will go towards the Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre in Dubai.

Upping the glam quotient will be Bollywood hunk Hrithik Roshan and veteran star Kabir Bedi. Both stars will play a prominent role during the event where a collection of masterpieces titled Esparito (Spirit) by the Prague-based artist will be on display.

Roshan, who has been involved in quite a few charitable initiatives in the past, will be seen trying his hand at live painting during the event. The actor and Malik will jointly work on a canvas that will be auctioned later during the event.

Bedi, who has been a voting member of the Oscars for over three decades, is known for his eloquence and powerful, motivational speeches. He is going to be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Rest assured it’s going to be a memorable evening for all.

This exclusive event has been organized by a Dubai-based art consultant, curator and collector Manisha Sugandh supported by art curator Ayesha Imtiaz, in collaboration with The Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre.

On the day of the event, Roshan will visit the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre to attend a press conference along with Malik and other key people involved with this unique charity event. The actor will be seen interacting with the children of the Centre.

Malik’s latest collection Esparito is an ode to the ever-evolving spirit of life. ‎"Every life has a spirit and every spirit has colour within," said the artist about his inspiration for his latest collection.
When one defines Espãrito the first few words that come to the mind are angel, energy, mystery and force. The event intends to showcase a wide range of illustrations for viewers. The main goal is to convey a visual representation of modern abstraction and art leading to the colors found within one’s heart.

The artist also draws influences from Dubai, a city he frequently visits. He considers the place as a melting pot of cultures and believes that the residents of Dubai have unique life experiences from which one can learn so much.

“With the abstract, the enigma of art is revealed directly through a pictorial city in which naturalistic perceptions are transformed by the myriad processes and the beauty of its imagination,” said Malik.
Malik’s creations are a visual treat. He is a master of modern and abstract forms. His paintings concentrate on the use of line rather than depth. There is little differentiation between foreground and background in his works. He uses colours in a very unique way and it evokes different reactions in different people.

Malik has organized a number of exhibitions in Dubai in the past. His previous exhibitions include The Hidden Soul, Orange Peel, The Flying Curves, Mon Amour. His works have received much appreciation from art connoisseurs and critics alike.
