Deputy Director Dubai Medical District open 2nd Arab Paediatric Medical Congress
Under the Patronage of the Ministry of Health, UAE, Dr. Abdulaziz Abdula Al Zarooni, Deputy Director Dubai Medical District inaugurated the 2nd Arab Paediatric Medical Congress today in Dubai, the leading event supported by the Executive Board of Health Ministers’ Council for GCC States, Kurdistan paediatric association “KPA”, Iraq pediatric society. The programme is sponsored by Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, The American Hospital Dubai, The Portland Hospital.
Al Zarooni highlighted during his opening keynote speech the efforts Ministry of health, UAE made to meet the rise in demand of healthcare services and to improve the quality and delivery of care, by expanding health facilities, hospitals, medical centres across the seven emirates and providing the qualified calibre and access to medication for our patients.
“The welfare and health of children is paramount to MOH, therefore we are working to improve the care of children by establishing the required health facilities, increasing awareness about diseases, focusing on medical research, developing and training the required calibre of paediatricians and neonatologists at the emirates”. Said Al Zarooni. Following the opening ceremony, Dr. Ramadan Alblooshi, Managing Director of the Regulation Sector, Dubai Healthcare City Authority, UAE, Dr. Yasser Nakhlawi, Consultant Paediatrician, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Adjunct Faculty, Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Ghanem Ali Al Hassani, Specialist Physician Behavioural Sciences Institute, Al Ain Hospital, UAE, moderated a panel discussion about catalysing regional actions and strengthening collaborative networks to protect children The first day of the event featured a number of presentations focused on the most pressing topics in surgery and transplantation, public health in Paediatrics, Nutrition and Gastroenterology, overcoming common Neonatal challenges, public health in paediatrics, Neurology and metabolic update, updates in managing autism in children and management of ADD.
