- Watch how colours can change your children's behaviour!
Have you ever pondered why you preferred one particular colour over the other? Have you ever thought about why they use red carpets at film festivals? Or why fast-food restaurants typically use colours such as yellow, orange and red? Why is black classified as the colour of mystery and dominance in fashion lines, but also considered the colour of sadness?
The effect colour has on a person’s mood has been on the minds of many for years. Hempel Paints recently examined this notion through a unique experiment, the first of its kind for a paints company. The company chose a kindergarten, where they painted their walls one colour, and then returned the next day to paint it another colour, wherein they observed the children's behaviour over the course of the two days.
The results were amazing and unexpected. Children’s behaviour varied enormously, indicating that they were more energetic and vibrant with one colour, while more open and cooperative with the other colour. Through this interesting experiment, Hempel has emerged as a company with a unique personality and distinct way of thinking, proving that colours do in fact significantly impact one’s mood, further proving that paint is not simply a colour we use to embellish our homes with, but in fact is deeper than just a colour.
